Hospital Visitor Update

Bass Coast Health have updated our Visitor information, please see below guide:

To protect patients and staff, please do not enter our facilities for the purpose of visiting if:

·         You have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not been discharged from isolation or are awaiting test results.

·         Have returned to Australia from overseas in the past 14 days.

·         Have visited any Victorian exposure sites or hotspots in the past 14 days.

·         Have a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees or symptoms of acute respiratory infection

  • breathing difficulties

  • breathlessness

  • cough

  • sore throat

  • runny nose

  • or fatigue.

·         Have had known contact with someone who has COVID-19 in the past 14 days. 

All visitors are instructed:

  • To wear a surgical mask at all times whilst within Bass Coast Health facility. We will supply you with one.

  • To practise hand hygiene.

  • Maintain 1.5m physical distance from others 

Visitation Guidance – General Wards

  • Visitors of hospital patients can visit between 4pm and 6pm.

  • Visitors are restricted to one household, once per day

  • Visitors are restricted by room density limits, please adhere to the room capacity displayed on doors to ensure social distancing can be maintained

  • Visitors can visit for up to two hours per day.

  • People of all ages are welcome to visit.

  • All visitors will be temperature tested and undergo COVID-19 screening on entry to Bass Coast Health facilities.

 Maternity Ward

·         No restriction for partners

All other visitors to maternity ward:

·         Visiting hours of 4pm to 6pm apply.

 Palliative Care

  • Visitors can provide compassionate support for a patient at the late stages of a terminal illness. Visits are flexible and as needed.

  • Visitors can provide support for Palliative care patients whose condition is stable, visiting hours are between 4pm and 6pm.

  • Visitors are restricted to one household, once per day for stable palliative care patients

Residential Care Facilities

  • No changes to our Residential Care facilities visiting restrictions.

  • Visits to occur in our visitor pods only and arranged by prior bookings
